Volunteer!

Prevent Blindness America and its affiliates conduct vision screenings to check the eyes of millions of adults and children each year. As the only program for certifying vision screeners nationwide, we teach people around the country to screen for problems like lazy eye (Amblyopia) in preschoolers, Glaucoma and Age-related Macular Degeneration in adults, as well as a range of other serious vision problems. Our national certified vision screening program serves local communities empowering them to promote better eye health at the grassroots level.

Screening Volunteers Are The Front Line

Prevent Blindness Texas Fort Worth needs volunteers who will be trained and nationally certified to assist with our vision screenings for children and adults. Preschool aged children don't know how well they should see, especially if they’ve never seen their world correctly.

You can work with a volunteer team in your area or with our team near downtown Fort Worth. Volunteers are also needed for our Adult Screening program. Older adults can lose vision needlessly. Daytime volunteers are needed and trained to test visual acuity and complete registration forms at adult eye health screenings. Volunteer now to help at a screening near you.

Volunteers can also assist in the office, at special events, and even at the Adult Eye Clinic. Volunteer eye doctors are always needed at the Clinic.
